we are the biodynamic cannabis association, founded in 2009
1. to bring the benefits of biodynamic growing to the world of cannabis,
2. to encourage everyone involved with ganja to grow in a more holistic, heartful/relational, and effective manner, whatever system of growing they may be following
3. likewise to encourage everyone who wishes to do so, to enjoy the benefits of responsible holistic cannabis usage in a healthy and rich context,
4. also to support and encourage the growth of biodynamic hemp for food, fiber, etc
5. and perhaps biodynamic hops when we have the time
;
6. also to help peasants and farmers to acquire and develop their farms via the economic or trade/barter benefits of growing the holy Herbs,
7. and to help evolve standards for biodynamically produced cannabis products and a meaningful certification program for biodynamic growers and their products
you can converse and contribute on this site or at the Biodynamic Cannabis Growers’ Association, email us at bdcann@gmx.com, or find us on facebook in the group Biodynamic Cannabis

hey there’s a group for Biodynamic Cannabis on facebook! it’s at http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100000055565890&ref=ts#/group.php?gid=120379002993
facebook is an awesome resource for the Free Ganja movement generally. if you’re not on, come see! the following was put up as an introductory post in the Group forum:
*********************
for an overview of biodynamic principles and practices, the Oregon Biodynamic Group (http://www.oregonbd.org/) has developed and put up a wonderful “Introductory Course On-line” at http://www.oregonbd.org/Class/class.htm
speaking of local groups, attending a meeting of the local bd group in your area could be a very effective way to get the flavor of biodynamics. we find that bd enthusiasts are super kewl; meetings and classes welcome gardeners of all skill levels including non-gardeners. you know how you can get a lot more sometimes by getting the flavor in person instead of trying to apply book-learnins.
the Biodynamic Farming and Gardening Association keeps a list of local/regional groups for North America and the Caribbean at http://www.biodynamics.com/regional
on the Biodynamic Cannabis Association page, there are links to other national bd organizations (http://bdcann.wordpress.com) which could direct you to regional groups in those areas. more links coming!
at this point, biodynamics “proper” is not really receptive to our favorite plant… this may or may not change over time. we in the Biodynamic Cannabis Association hope to win over as many of our biodynamic compatriots as possible to the view that what we are doing is beneficial, but this may take time. so for now, if attending biodynamic gatherings, you may want to keep your affections on the DL..
biodynamics may appear at first to involve a bewildering bunch of concepts and farm practices. i think that we can approach bd a bit at a time, and non-linear-ly is fine
also
for me, thinking back now, it seems that i first started experiencing biodynamics with the first garden i ever made, in a barren yard in daly city ca. in fact i had been reading “secrets of the soil“, which came after “secret life of plants” and which does talk about biodynamics -the term was new to me, just a bunch of syllables… but i remember meditating in the stilll-to-come garden about “what IS gardening?” what Is gardening? … What Is Gardening…
It Hit me
, that “gardening” is about raising the overall life energy of the garden itself, so that over time it would become an amazing Life-Field, in which anything/evrything would be glad to grow and be. It can’t just be “raising plants”, that’s ‘plant husbandry’ or summat like that. Gardening means the cultivation of an entire area, so that it can evolve as a Garden. when we start to achieve this, then anything we might want to grow will certainly flourish there; but “all niches are time-bound”, as permaculture teaches us: the *Garden* is what continues, and the Garden is what we are growing, as garden-ers
here’s a few examples of what i would call baby steps in biodynamics
* avoid monocultures. Life is a web, and we are working uphill if we try to use the “old-science”/industrializ
* think manure. composted dairy manure from cows on good pasture is one of the most amazing substances in Creation. definitely worth looking and begging for. the manure alone is a great reason to keep a cow, if you can. if you can find good local manures of whatever sort, either composted or to compost at home, it’s good. an opportunity to network with some of the local farmers and ranchers in your area
*recognize that Life and Mystery are all around us. a mood compounded of humility, devotion, ecstacy, belonging, and willingness to receive communication from any-thing in or interested in the garden, will do Wonders for your work!
there’s a start anyhow…
thank you all again! don’t be shy to use this group as you feel
Blessings!

the greatest thing to happen to us in agriculture so far, was to have the fortune to attend the lectures and activities during the visit of Manfred Klett to Steiner College in sacramento, spring 2008.

in particular, Manfred’s embodiment of all that it means to be a spiritual farmer proved to us, beyond any words, the reality of this Way of living, and the fact that if we can give all our exertion and devotion it could be possible for us too. Dr Klett is a Friend, a Brother to all who love Life, and a true Scientist as well. we will be thanking him all our lives
the first lecture was entitled “stages of manuring”. the reader will notice that the term “manuring” refers to all one might put on the land of amendments and fertilizers.
